Ulanzi 2597 Overview

Ideal for live streaming, vlogging, and shooting selfies, the Ulanzi U-Pad III Metal Tripod Mount works with most 4.7 to 12.9″ phones and tablets. It can be mounted on a either a tripod with a 1/4″ screw or using an Acra-type compatible mount. The cold shoe mount allows you to attach a mic or LED video light when shooting video. Made from durable aluminum alloy with a rubber grip, the U-Pad III’s clamp can be quickly expanded and locked into position.

I was curious about this product so I gave it a try. It is too large to accommodate my phone along the shortest edge but works great on the long side. The inclusion of an arca-swiss mount on two sides makes it a great product I can use on my phone or on my iPad as a replacement for my old mount which isn’t big enough for today’s phones.

This appears to be the most efficient solution to my needs. We invented this type of device in 2011. The main adjustment knob is inelegant. However, the fine adjustment is smart. The Arca Swiss body implementation is also a fine and versatile feature. There are a couple of missing attributes…that’s why four stars.
