Russound MBX-Pre Overview

Enjoy simple streaming music with the MBX-PRE Network Streaming Audio Player Preamp from Russound. The MBX-PRE is an easy-to-install audio solution for adding streaming content to any audio system. The MBX-PRE can be used as a stereo audio streaming source for a single room or supply an audio stream to a larger whole-house system through its easy-to-use digital and analog audio inputs and outputs.

Designed to be installer-friendly when connected to your network via LAN or Wi-Fi, the MBX-PRE allows for expansion to up to 32 streaming rooms of audio in a single installation with any combination of other MBX-Series streaming products from Russound. In addition to network and streaming capability, the MBX-PRE includes digital optical and 3.5mm analog audio inputs and outputs for easy integration with other audio systems and components.

Connectivity

The MBX-PRE works well with any Russound SMZ-Series or MCA-Series controller as a fully integrated Russound source. This enables it to be controlled by any Russound SMZ Series or MCA-Series Keypad like the XTS7 or IPK-1. Additionally, the MBX-PRE can be used with any other amplifier or receiver as an easy way to add hi-res audio streaming and app control to an existing installation. Additionally, it can be used as a Bluetooth audio source.

Streaming Access

For voice control, the MBX-PRE is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home due to its advanced Chromecast built-in features. With a large array of great entertainment sources, the MBX-AMP provides ready access to Spotify, Pandora, SiriusXM, TuneIn, vTuner, Deezer, Tidal, Napster, and any other service using Apple AirPlay, or any app that supports Google Cast like iHeartRadio, Google Play Music, YouTube Music, etc.

Front Panel Controls

The MBX-PRE has easily accessible front panel controls for play, pause, and volume, as well as the ability to program two “favorites” for easy one-summary recall.
